US President Election 2024:Â Addressing the annual conference of the NAACP, Joe Biden said that Vice President Kamala Harris could be the President of the United States. The US President said, “Trump tried to roll back Obamacare, which meant millions of Black Americans no longer had their health insurance. He passed a $2 trillion tax cut that benefited the richest people and companies. He increased the federal debt by more than any other one-term president.”

Biden further talked about the mess that happened during Trump’s tenure. He said, “He left no room for us to do what we should do. We wanted to invest in things that affect people’s lives, like child care, elderly care and more, which grow the economy and help people. This mismanagement of the pandemic was particularly devastating for black communities.”

55-year-old Kamala Harris dropped out of the presidential race in December. Kamala Harris was born in Oakland, California. Her parents were immigrants. Her mother was born in India, while her father was born in Jamaica. She attended Howard University, which is recognized as a black college and university.
Kamala says that she is always satisfied with her identity and likes to call herself simply an American. In 2019, he told the Washington Post that leaders should not be forced into a particular mold just because of their color and background. He said, “I say that I am what I am. I am happy with it. You have to see what to do but I am absolutely happy with it.”
After Harvard, Kamala Harris took a law degree from the University of California and then started practicing law. After that she became the Attorney General of America’s largest state, California. She was the first woman and the first African-American to reach this position. Kamala Harris was Attorney General twice and then became a Member of Parliament in 2017. She was the second black woman to do so.
Kamala Harris was born in Oakland (California), but her mother Shyamala Gopalan was the daughter of an Indian diplomat. She was born in Bansat Nagar, a neighbourhood of Chennai. Shyamala Gopalan came to America in her teens for studies, she received higher education from the University of California Berkeley. Here she met Donald J. Harris and both of them fell in love. After this, Shyamala and Harris got married in 1963. Kamala Harris was born in 1964.
