Mohan Bhagwat on Reservation: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Sunday (April 28) that the Sangh Parivar never opposed the reservation given to certain groups. Addressing a program at an educational institution in Hyderabad, Bhagwat said that the Sangh is of the opinion that reservation should be increased as long as needed.Â
According to news agency ANI, he said, “The Sangh has been supporting all reservations according to the Constitution since the beginning but some people are circulating fake videos.” Mohan Bhagwat’s statement comes amid the ongoing war of words between the BJP and the Congress over reservation. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Bhagwat had said in Nagpur last year that as long as there is discrimination in society, reservation should continue. He had said, discrimination exists in society even though it is invisible.Â
‘False video is being circulated’
Mohan Bhagwat said, “A video is being circulated that RSS is against reservation and we cannot speak about it outside. Now this is completely false. This is untrue and wrong. The Sangh has been supporting all reservations according to the Constitution since the beginning.”
Elections for 190 seats have been held in two phases for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in the country and five phases are still left. Earlier also, leaders of many parties have been accusing BJP and RSS that they will end reservation. Amidst all this, a video is circulating regarding reservation during the election time, on which Mohan Bhagwat has given clarification.
