Maharashtra Political Drama: The next 24 to 48 hours are going to be very important in Maharashtra politics. Because, the exercise of government formation in Maharashtra has now started in Delhi. There was a lot of maneuvering going on for the last 9 days regarding the formation of government in Maharashtra. But, now perhaps BJP has decided that it cannot tolerate Eknath Shinde‘s tantrums for long. The leader who predicts the formation of government an hour ago. The same leader changes his statement the next hour. The leader who talks about coming to Delhi falls ill. Meanwhile, NCP leader Ajit Pawar has reached Delhi. Eknath Shinde is still in Mumbai. In such a situation, the name and outline of the next CM of Maharashtra will be almost decided in Delhi Darbar on Monday night. However, the next CM of Maharashtra will be Devendra Fadnavis or Eknath Shinde or neither of these two…

Let us tell you that for the past several days, the curiosity to know who will be the CM of Maharashtra is increasing continuously. Eknath Shinde is not able to get rid of his desire for the CM’s chair. BJP has emerged as the largest party in the Maharashtra elections. The morale of the workers is also being affected due to the new government not being formed in Maharashtra till now. Perhaps that is why BJP has sidelined Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and called NCP leader Ajit Pawar to Delhi. However, an important meeting is being held in Delhi on the CM post. But, Devendra Fadnavis is ‘missing’ from that meeting.

Tuesday is an important day for government formation in Maharashtra

BJP is just 13 steps behind the majority figure. This means that 145 seats are required for majority in the 288 seats of Maharashtra Assembly. BJP has won 132 seats in this election. In such a situation, BJP can easily form the government. But, other parties of Mahayuti, NCP, Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena want to take Shinde faction along. But, BJP seems to be in trouble due to the stance of Eknath Shinde.

Will BJP not tolerate Eknath Shinde’s tantrums anymore?

Let us tell you that even though Eknath Shinde is not directly talking about becoming the CM, but it is clear from his behavior and the statements of party leaders that he wants to remain on the CM post. It is almost certain that BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis will become the CM of Maharashtra again. Despite this, even after 9 days of the election results, the situation is not formally clear on the CM face, due to which these circumstances are clearly indicating that everything is not going well in the Mahayuti.

Will Ajit Pawar play a trick?

Meanwhile, NCP leader Ajit Pawar has reached Delhi. It is being said that Ajit Pawar is going to meet party’s national president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah tonight. However, Devendra Fadnavis not reaching Delhi has given rise to another suspicion. Is anyone looking for an alternative to Devendra Fadnavis? Is Eknath Shinde not agreeing to Devendra Fadnavis becoming the CM?

In such a situation, the question arises that despite winning the Maharashtra assembly elections with a huge majority, why has the Mahayuti alliance not presented its claim of forming a majority to the Governor? Why is the acting Chief Minister of the state Eknath Shinde repeatedly cancelling his meetings? Will only the Chief Minister take oath on December 5? Why is Eknath Shinde not coming to Delhi? All these things are likely to be revealed in the next 24 to 48 hours. That is why Devendra Fadnavis is not leaving Mumbai. He is preparing the outline of the government while sitting in Mumbai.

25 November: The formula of 1 Chief Minister and 2 Deputy CMs was decided. The formula of one ministerial post for every 6-7 MLAs came up in the Mahayuti parties. According to this, 22-24 MLAs of BJP, 10-12 MLAs of Shinde faction and 8-10 MLAs of Ajit faction can become ministers.

27 November: Acting CM Eknath Shinde held a press conference in Thane. He said that we accept the BJP CM. I do not crave for power. Modi ji stood by me when I was the Chief Minister. Now whatever decision he takes will be accepted.

November 28: Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar held a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda for about two and a half hours in Delhi. Shinde met Shah alone for half an hour. The high command has offered Shinde the post of Deputy CM or a minister at the Centre.

29 November: Mahayuti meeting postponed. Eknath Shinde suddenly left for Satara. Shiv Sena is demanding Home and Finance ministries in lieu of the Chief Minister’s post. Talks stuck on Home and Finance Ministry?

In the Shinde government, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis had the Home Ministry. He does not want to leave this ministry. On the other hand, the Shinde faction argues that if we are getting the post of Deputy CM, then he should also get the Home Ministry. This issue could not be resolved even in the meeting with Shah.

Earlier the Home Ministry was with Devendra Fadnavis. It is believed that due to this dispute, no solution could be reached on cabinet formation in Shah’s meeting. Experts also believe that BJP will never let go of the post of Home Minister.

According to sources, even after discussions with Shah, there is a tussle in the alliance over the departments. BJP wants to keep Home, Revenue, Higher Education, Law, Energy, Rural Development with itself. They have offered Health, Urban Development, Public Works, Industry to Shiv Sena. Whereas NCP has offered departments like Finance, Planning, Cooperation, Agriculture to Ajit faction.

What will be the formula of Maharashtra cabinet ?

The new government will include 43 ministers along with the CM and two deputy CMs. BJP is likely to get 20-23 ministers, Shinde faction 11 and Ajit faction 9. Earlier, there were 28 ministers in the Shinde government and Shinde had the maximum 11, BJP had 9 and Ajit Pawar faction had 8 ministers. This time, due to the higher number of BJP MLAs, the number of ministers will also increase.

Apart from this, to appease the angry Eknath Shinde, BJP has offered him a ministerial post at the centre. His son Shrikant or any senior leader of the party can get a place in the Modi cabinet. Apart from this, there is also a discussion that Ajit faction has a vacant seat in the Modi cabinet. Praful Patel can become a minister.
