TRAI New Rule: Major Calling Rule Changes from 1 Nov! Jio, Airtel, Vi & BSNL Users Beware

TRAI New Rule From 1 November 2024: Cases of cyber fraud are increasing rapidly in the country. Cyber ​​​​thugs are adopting new ways to cheat people every day. To stop these frauds, the government is also in action mode and is constantly trying to get rid of it. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is instructing telecom operators to take strict measures to keep the data of their SIM card users safe.

It will be easier to avoid scammers

This decision of the government will make it easier for the customers of Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, Airtel and BSNL to avoid scammers and their tension will be reduced. The rules related to SIM cards can be implemented from November 1. Let us know about it in detail. 

Steps taken by the government

The government has changed the rules to stop fake calls and messages. According to TRAI, telecom operators have been instructed to curb fake calls. Through fake calls and messages, scammers are cheating people and emptying their bank accounts.

Know what are the new rules

According to the new rule, the calls and messages coming on the phone will be checked by the telecom operators beforehand. By identifying some keywords of these numbers, those messages and calls will be blocked immediately. Apart from this, even if the SIM card users complain, those messages and call numbers will be blocked. It is expected that soon this model will be ready which will help in preventing fraud.

New Rules for Phone Calls and Messages: Key Points

  1. Pre-Screening by Telecom Operators
    Incoming calls and messages will now be screened by telecom operators, helping detect potential frauds before they reach users.
  2. Keyword Identification
    Certain keywords in calls and messages will trigger immediate blocking, preventing harmful or fraudulent content from reaching the user.
  3. User Complaints for Blocking
    Users can report suspicious numbers directly, which will lead to prompt blocking of those calls or messages by telecom operators.
  4. Fraud Prevention Model in Progress
    A comprehensive model to enhance security and reduce fraudulent calls and messages is in development, aimed at providing a safer experience for all users.
