Weather Update: The period of severe heat is continuing in many states of the country. There are many cities for which the IMD i.e. the Meteorological Department has even issued an alert. Heat wave conditions are being seen continuously in these cities. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of heat wave will be seen more in the coming days.

The maximum temperature in the national capital Delhi was recorded at 44.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 6 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius, which is 5.7 degrees above the average of this season.
The Meteorological Department has predicted clear skies, hot winds, intense heat, hot nights and strong winds on Monday. The humidity was recorded at 19 percent at 5:30 pm.
Severe heat and heatwave continue
Severe heat and heat wave continue in Uttar Pradesh and the entire state is in its grip. Day temperatures of 43 degrees Celsius or more were recorded in all the divisions of the state. Prayagraj was the hottest place in the state on Sunday with a maximum temperature of 47.6 degrees Celsius. According to the report of the Regional Meteorological Center in Lucknow, the weather remained dry in Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Severe heat and heat wave continued at most places in the state.
There is no possibility of getting relief from the scorching heat soon. According to the report, Prayagraj was the hottest place in the state on Sunday, where the day temperature was recorded at 47.6 degrees Celsius. This was 8.7 degrees Celsius more than normal. Jhansi recorded a maximum temperature of 47.1 degrees, Varanasi and Kanpur 46.8, Agra 46.5, Sultanpur 46.4, Fatehpur 46.2, Fursatganj and Barabanki 46-46, Orai 45.8 and the capital Lucknow 45.6 degrees Celsius. During the next 24 hours, heat wave is expected in almost all the places of the state and severe heat wave in some places.
Orange and Yellow alerts for heat wave
Orange and Yellow alerts for heat wave have been issued in Uttarakhand. The weather department has issued orange and yellow alerts for heat wave in some areas of the state. There is an orange alert for heat wave in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Yellow alert for heat wave in Pithoragarh. The weather department has predicted rain in the entire state including the plains from the evening of 17th.
Severe heat wave
Severe heat wave conditions continued in Punjab on Sunday with Samrala and Nuh recording temperatures of 47.2 degrees and 46.6 degrees Celsius respectively. The Met office said the scorching heat also hit Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44.4 degrees Celsius.
Severe heat continues in Samrala in Ludhiana, Punjab, while Nuh was the hottest place in Haryana. The maximum temperature in Punjab’s Bathinda was 46.3 degrees Celsius, while it was recorded at 46.1 degrees in Pathankot. The temperature in Amritsar was 45.8 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana 44.6 degrees, Patiala 45.5 degrees, Gurdaspur 46 degrees and Ferozepur 44.3 degrees Celsius.
Scorching heat wave in Haryana
Among other places in Haryana, Faridabad and Sirsa continued to reel under scorching heat. Faridabad recorded a maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius and Sirsa 46.2 degrees Celsius. Mahendragarh recorded a maximum temperature of 45.6 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded a maximum temperature of 45.2 degrees. Hot weather conditions also affected Gurugram and Kurukshetra. Gurugram recorded a maximum temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius and Kurukshetra 44.1 degrees Celsius. According to the weather office forecast, light to moderate rain is likely at isolated places in Haryana and Chandigarh on June 18 and at a few places during June 19-21. Mahendragarh recorded a maximum temperature of 45.6 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded a maximum temperature of 45.2 degrees.
