Army Chief reviews security situation in Jammu

Chief of Army Staff Gen Upendra Dwivedi on Friday visited Nagrota-based White Knight Corps to review the prevailing security situation and assess operational preparedness in the region.

His visit came close on the heels of multiple anti-terrorist operations across the Jammu region, which resulted in the elimination of top commanders of the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist outfit. During the meeting, the Army Chief was also briefed on the counter-terrorism grid and appreciated the synergy in joint operations. During the day, the Army Chief also attended the high-level security review meeting chaired by the Union Home Minister at Lok Bhavan in Jammu. In a post on X, the official handle of the Indian army said the Chief of Army Staff visited White Knight Corps to review the prevailing security situation and assess operational preparedness in the region.

“He was briefed on the counter-terrorism grid and appreciated the synergy in joint operations between the security forces”. During the meeting, the Army Chief commended the efforts of all stakeholders and emphasised the need for vigilance and a people-centric approach while conducting operations in the region.

He also expressed confidence in the leadership and troops of White Knight Corps in safeguarding peace and security in the region.
