India’s IT is ‘Information Technology’, Pakistan’s is ‘International Terrorism’: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India is globally recognised for Information Technology, while Pakistan is viewed as the epicentre of “International Terrorism,” as he underlined India’s firm stance against terror.

Speaking in New Delhi, Singh described terrorism as a product of a “distorted and perverse mindset” and stressed that the fight against it is not just about national security but also about protecting core human values.

Highlighting India’s evolving response, he said Operation Sindoor marked a decisive shift by sending a clear global message that India will no longer rely solely on diplomatic reactions to terror attacks. He described the operation as a symbol of strong political will and coordinated military action.

The defence minister noted that the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force worked in close coordination during the operation, showcasing a unified and integrated defence capability.

Reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance policy, Singh said no act of terrorism will be accepted under any circumstances. He also warned against attempts to justify terrorism through ideological or religious narratives, calling such efforts dangerous.

Singh added that India executed Operation Sindoor on its own terms, targeting only those responsible for attacks, and halted it voluntarily while remaining fully prepared for a prolonged conflict. He said India’s armed forces possess the ability to rapidly scale up capabilities during crises.

He further highlighted the growing strength of India’s defence sector, noting a significant rise in exports and increasing global interest in indigenously developed military equipment. According to him, defence exports reached a record ₹38,424 crore in FY 2025–26, reflecting a sharp growth over the previous year.

Calling Operation Sindoor a reflection of a “New India,” Singh said the country no longer distinguishes between terrorists and those who support them, signalling a more assertive approach in the global fight against terrorism.
