Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday began his visit to areas along the international border in Gujarat’s Kutch district, where he is set to review security arrangements and interact with Border Security Force personnel.
During the visit, Shah inaugurated the G-7 border outpost and headed to key strategic locations along the Indo-Pak border. He is also scheduled to inspect the control room at OP Tower 1170 and visit the strategically important Harami Nalla creek area in Kutch.
According to officials, the Union minister will chair a high-level review meeting on border security and interact with senior BSF officers and local authorities. Shah will also plant a sapling at a jetty point in the Harami Nalla region during the visit.
The Gujarat visit is part of Amit Shah’s extended tour of India’s border areas aimed at strengthening security preparedness and boosting coordination with security agencies. Earlier, he visited the BSF border outpost at Sanchu in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, where he reviewed security measures and inaugurated facilities for women personnel.
Officials said Shah is also expected to visit India’s eastern borders with Bangladesh, including trips to Tripura and West Bengal in the coming days.
