Fire brought under control in half an hour
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told reporters at the scene that 27 people had died and many others had been taken to the hospital. He stated that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Meanwhile, officials reported that it took firefighters about half an hour to bring the blaze under control. Post-incident images show burnt tables and chairs, as well as the damaged interior of the pub.
