Jaipur/Jodhpur: The principal benches of the Rajasthan High Court in Jaipur and Jodhpur—counted among the state’s most secure and VVIP premises—have once again received a bomb threat via email. The emergence of this latest threatening message has caused a major stir within the state’s judicial and police administrations. Acting swiftly as a precaution, police and bomb disposal squads have cordoned off both High Court complexes, and entry for lawyers, staff, and the general public has been completely halted.
Most concerning is the fact that the Rajasthan High Court has received over a dozen such threats since last October; yet, the country’s and state’s high-tech investigative agencies and cyber experts have consistently failed to track down the masterminds behind these hoax emails. These recurring, hollow threats are not only disrupting judicial hearings for thousands of pending cases but are also instilling an atmosphere of fear and panic among lawyers, judges, and the impoverished litigants from remote areas who visit the court premises seeking justice.
Simultaneous Threat Emails to Jaipur and Jodhpur Benches
Chaos ensued on Monday morning when the Rajasthan High Court administration received a threatening email from an unknown address. The email contained threats to blow up both the Jaipur and Jodhpur complexes using remote-controlled and timer-based bombs. The court administration immediately alerted the local police commissionerate and intelligence agencies. Upon receiving the information, the dog squad, Quick Response Team (QRT), and local police forces arrived at the scene and began a thorough search of the entire premises. Although the IP address of the email is being verified based on preliminary investigations and past experiences, the entire complex has been turned into a fortress to ensure there are no security lapses.
