Delhi Traffic Alert: Jagannath Rath Yatra today; traffic diversions on several key routes—check the advisory before heading out.

The Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra will be taken out today in the Hauz Khas area of ​​Delhi. Traffic is likely to be affected on several major routes in the capital due to this religious event. Special Traffic Arrangements from 2 PM to 7 PM

According to the Delhi Traffic Police advisory, the 48th Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra, organized by the Shri Neelachal Seva Sangh, Delhi, will commence today, July 16, at 2 PM from the Shri Jagannath Temple in Hauz Khas Village. The procession will pass along Aurobindo Marg and is expected to conclude around 6:30 PM. Anticipating a large turnout of devotees, the traffic police have decided to implement special traffic management measures between 2 PM and 7 PM. During this period, special traffic management will be enforced on both carriageways of Aurobindo Marg, stretching from the IIT Flyover (Outer Ring Road) to the AIIMS Flyover loop (Ring Road).

The Delhi Traffic Police has warned that traffic flow on Aurobindo Marg and connecting routes may be disrupted during the Rath Yatra. Congestion is also likely in these areas due to the heavy influx of devotees. Travelers heading to railway stations, the airport, hospitals, and other key locations are specifically advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time when leaving home. To ensure smooth traffic flow during the Rath Yatra, the Delhi Traffic Police has implemented diversions on key routes. Traffic will be diverted as needed at the IIT Flyover (Outer Ring Road) and the Aurobindo Marg–AIIMS Flyover loop (Ring Road).

Commuters traveling from MG Road and Mehrauli towards AIIMS or New Delhi are advised to turn right at the IIT Flyover (on Outer Ring Road) and use August Kranti Marg or JB Tito Marg.

Motorists can also reach AIIMS and New Delhi by turning left at the IIT Flyover and using Africa Avenue Road via the IIT Gate Flyover.

Commuters traveling from New Delhi towards MG Road, Mehrauli, and Gurugram via Aurobindo Marg are advised to turn right from Ring Road onto Africa Avenue Road.

Additionally, commuters can reach their destinations by turning left from the AIIMS Loop (Ring Road) onto August Kranti Marg or JB Tito Marg.
