PM Modi on Paper Leak: Amidst student protests against the NEET paper leak, PM Modi has made a major announcement. In a video message, he stated that the government is introducing a bill to curb paper leaks. This bill will be tabled in the House on Monday, and efforts will be made to pass it as quickly as possible. The Government of India has already taken several significant steps to prevent paper leaks. On Thursday, PM Modi announced the establishment of a fast-track court, and the court was set up by the evening. Additionally, Education Secretary Vineet Joshi was removed from his post.
In his video message, PM Modi said, “Friends, I know that the issue of paper leaks is not a trivial one. It is deeply distressing for lakhs of students and their parents; consequently, numerous measures have been taken over the past two and a half months regarding these incidents. The culprits have been apprehended and are currently in jail. Our primary responsibility was to ensure that the students did not lose a year of their academic lives. Conducting the exams immediately was crucial. The government mobilized all its resources to ensure that exams for 22 lakh students were held in the shortest possible time, and the results were declared just five or six days ago, on the 19th. While news of successful students celebrating across the country is coming in, we are not the kind of people to be complacent with just that. That is why I instructed the concerned departments today regarding the fast-track court. Working tirelessly, the departments submitted the draft to me late tonight. This draft, which includes provisions for fast-track courts and stringent punishments, will be discussed in the Cabinet tomorrow. It will be finalized after incorporating suggestions from Cabinet colleagues, and as the second week of the Parliament session begins on Monday, efforts will be made to pass the bill in the House as soon as possible.”
