Surajpur: Significant action has been taken regarding the life-threatening attack on a police team in Madannagar village (under the Pratappur police station area) on July 24. The police have registered a case under serious charges against 15 named individuals and between 100 and 150 unidentified villagers.
The incident occurred in Madannagar village within the Pratappur police station limits. On July 24, the police team had arrived to arrest five accused persons. During the operation, villagers attacked the team using sticks, farsas (traditional axes), and tangiyas (axes). More than two dozen police personnel, including the SDOP, sustained injuries in the attack.
An FIR has now been registered concerning this violence, naming 15 individuals and implicating 100–150 villagers as accused. Charges include attempted murder of police personnel, rioting, and obstruction of official duty. The police have also initiated a search for the accused.
