Chhattisgarh SET Exam: The Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board (CGSSB) has released the notification for the Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test (CG SET) 2026 and commenced the online application process. In a significant change, the number of subjects has been increased from 19 to 30; 11 new subjects have been added compared to the CG SET 2024. According to the CGSSB, candidates can apply online until 5:00 PM on August 17. An opportunity to correct any errors in the application form will also be available from August 18 to August 20.
CG SET Notification 2026: Expanded Opportunities with 11 New Subjects
New subjects included this time are Anthropology, Music, Performing Arts (Dance, Drama, and Theatre), Fine Arts and Sculpture, Yoga, Public Administration, Defence and Strategic Studies, Philosophy, Management, Mass Communication and Journalism, and Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences. The inclusion of these subjects offers young postgraduates in these fields the opportunity to take the state eligibility test.
Exam to be Held at 10 District Headquarters
According to the schedule set by the CGSSB, the CG SET exam will be conducted on October 4 (Sunday) at 10 district headquarters across the state. The exam will be held in two shifts: the first paper will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM, and the second paper will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM. What is CG SET and why is this exam important?
The Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test (CG SET) is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board (CGSSB). This examination establishes the minimum academic eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across the state. While qualifying for the SET does not guarantee a job, it is a mandatory qualification for recruitment as an Assistant Professor.
