This moment holds special significance as the 2030 Commonwealth Games will also mark the centenary of the competition; the inaugural Games were held in Hamilton, Canada, in 1930.
The closing ceremony will feature a unique musical collaboration (jugalbandi) between Indian sitar player Rishab Rikhiram Sharma and celebrated Scottish bagpiper Ross Ainslie. The event will conclude with a magnificent performance highlighting India’s cultural diversity and, specifically, the heritage of Gujarat. Additionally, the ceremony will showcase spectacular performances by international artists. The Scottish rock band Simple Minds will take the stage to perform their popular hits. Other artists set to entertain the audience include BEMZ, Cammy Barnes, Sandi Thom, and Australian singer Delta Goodrem.
