New Delhi: The weather across the entire NCR, including Delhi and Noida, has turned pleasant. The spell of rain that began last night is continuing into Tuesday morning. Light rain is occurring in several areas of the NCR, including Noida, and dark clouds have overcast the sky, creating a gloomy, dark atmosphere during the day. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in parts of the national capital, Delhi, today. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is likely in Haryana, which borders Delhi. Alerts for heavy rain have also been issued for Punjab and Chandigarh today. Strong winds blowing at speeds of 30–40 km/h are expected, with some areas likely to experience gusts reaching 50 km/h.

The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for very heavy rainfall today in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. Heavy rain is also expected in Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Similar weather conditions are anticipated over the next two days in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Karnataka, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra.
Alert for Rain Accompanied by Thunderstorms
The Meteorological Department has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds for Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Rainfall is expected in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand between August 4 and 7; this may be accompanied by lightning and wind speeds of 30–40 km/h. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Marathwada, Saurashtra, and Kutch between August 4 and 9. It is worth noting that heavy rains have created flood-like conditions in several areas across various states, including Gujarat and Assam.

The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain in Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh on August 4 and 5, with heavy rainfall expected in some areas on August 6. The department stated that heavy rain is likely to continue in parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh on August 7, whereas no heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Western Uttar Pradesh. Maximum temperatures are expected to drop by 4–6 degrees Celsius over the next four days, bringing relief from the current hot and humid weather.
