Preparations are in full swing to operate 50 air-conditioned (AC) e-buses allocated to Bilaspur under the ‘PM-eBus Sewa’ scheme. Notably, the participation of citizens is being ensured in determining the routes for these buses. The District Urban Public Service Society has invited suggestions from the public so that the e-bus operations align with the city’s actual needs. The administration believes that routes planned based on public opinion will benefit the maximum number of passengers and ensure better utilization of public transport.
A Gift Under the ‘PM-eBus Sewa’ Scheme
Bilaspur city is receiving 50 modern AC e-buses under the Central Government’s ‘PM-eBus Sewa’ scheme. The District Urban Public Service Society has initiated the process of finalizing potential routes for these buses. According to the district administration, the operation of modern AC e-buses on city roads will commence once the charging stations, depots, and other necessary infrastructure are ready. The infrastructure required for the successful operation of e-buses is also being developed rapidly. Modern charging stations are being set up at the Koni bus depot, where all the e-buses will be charged. Simultaneously, the construction of the administrative building has reached its final stage. Officials state that the necessary technical and administrative preparations are nearing completion.
