He noted that he has shared an excellent relationship with both of them for the past 16 years, adding that they are two or three years his junior. Dhawan expressed happiness that both players are preparing for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Praising Rohit’s century at Lord’s, he remarked that whenever the team faces a difficult situation, Rohit responds with superb batting. Regarding Virat Kohli, Dhawan stated that no amount of praise is enough for his fitness and game. Rohit and Virat have retired from Tests and T20Is
There had been considerable speculation over the past few months regarding the future of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in ODI cricket. During the final ODI against England at Lord’s, there was even talk of Rohit potentially retiring, but he put all such rumors to rest by playing a blistering innings of 138 runs. Following the England tour, the uncertainty surrounding their ODI futures appears to have largely dissipated.
