Changes to Chhattisgarh Government Recruitment Rules: The Chhattisgarh government has introduced significant changes to the recruitment process for Class III and Class IV government posts. The General Administration Department (GAD) has implemented the ‘Staff Selection Board Rules, 2026.’ Under these new regulations, the entire process—from application to appointment—will be more transparent, time-bound, and systematic. A major change is that candidates must select their preferred posts and departments at the time of application; this choice cannot be altered later.
Post and Department Preferences Must Be Specified at Application
Under the new system, candidates are required to indicate their preferences for available posts and departments when applying. Once the application is submitted, no amendments to this preference list will be permitted. Final selection will be restricted to the posts included by the candidate in their preference list.
Mandatory Profile Registration Before Applying
All candidates participating in government recruitment must register a profile on the Staff Selection Board’s website before applying. Aadhaar authentication is mandatory for this process. Candidates will only be eligible to participate in the recruitment drive after completing this registration.
No Waiting or Reserve Lists
The new recruitment system stipulates that the final selection list will contain only as many candidates as there are advertised vacancies. The final merit list will be based on written examination scores, post preferences, and reservation rules. The government has clarified that no waiting list or reserve list will be issued following the declaration of final results.
New Rules for Skill and Physical Tests
For posts requiring a skill test or physical efficiency test, candidates numbering 15 times the available vacancies—based on written exam results—will be called for the next stage. These tests will be qualifying in nature, and the marks obtained will not be included in the final merit calculation. The concerned department must complete these tests within three months.
Annual Exam Calendar to be Released Every August
The Staff Selection Board will now release an annual calendar for recruitment examinations every August, based on projected vacancies. Additionally, the tentative schedule for major state-level entrance and eligibility exams will be made public, enabling candidates to plan their preparations in advance. Timeline for Document Upload and Verification
Candidates included in the final selection list must complete Aadhaar verification and upload the required documents online within 15 days. If any discrepancy is found in a document, the candidate will have the opportunity to file a claim or objection within 7 days, which the department will resolve within 15 days.
Appointment Process to be Completed Within One Month
Following the release of the list, the concerned department must complete the document verification and appointment process within one month. Upon receiving the appointment letter, the selected candidate is required to assume duty within 30 days. Failure to join within the stipulated time will result in the post being declared vacant, and the candidature may be cancelled.
