Bastar Dussehra Schedule 2026: The world-famous Bastar Dussehra, a 75-day-long festival in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division, begins today. The festival kicks off on August 12 with the ‘Pat Jatra’ ritual dedicated to Goddess Danteshwari, the presiding deity of Bastar. During this time, traditional functionaries—including Manjhi-Chalki, Member-Membrin, Pujari, Patel, Naik-Paik, and Sevadars—will perform the ritual of forging tools required for the construction of the chariot. The Bastar Dussehra Committee has invited all Sevadars, villagers, and prominent citizens to participate in these rituals.

The schedule for the main events of the 75-day Bastar Dussehra has been released. The festival commences on Wednesday, August 12, with the ‘Pat Jatra’ ritual. Subsequent rituals include ‘Deri Gadai’ on September 24; ‘Kachhangadi’ on Saturday, October 10; ‘Kalash Sthapana’ on Sunday, October 11; and ‘Jogi Bithai’ on Monday, October 12.

Navratri Puja and Chariot Circumambulation rituals will take place daily from October 13 to October 18. The ‘Bel Puja’ ritual is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Sunday, October 18. ‘Maha Ashtami Puja’ and ‘Nisha Jatra’ will be held on Monday, October 19. ‘Kumari Puja’, ‘Jogi Uthai’, and ‘Mavali Parghav’ will take place on Tuesday, October 20. ‘Bhitar Raini Puja’ and chariot circumambulation will occur on Wednesday, October 21, followed by ‘Bahar Raini Puja’ and chariot circumambulation on Thursday, October 22. On Friday, October 23, the ‘Kachhan Jatra’ ritual will be held in the morning, followed by the historic ‘Muriya Darbar’ in the afternoon. The festival will conclude with ‘Kutumb Jatra’ and the farewell of village deities on Saturday, October 24, and the farewell ritual for the ‘Mavali Mata’ palanquin on Tuesday, October 27.
