Raipur: There is significant news for students studying in schools across Chhattisgarh. The Directorate of Public Instruction has released the revised schedule for the quarterly and half-yearly examinations for Classes 1 to 12 for the 2026-27 academic session. The order issued by the Directorate provides details regarding the exam dates as well as the subject-wise schedule for each class.
The Directorate has clarified that the instructions issued earlier—including those regarding the formation of examination committees and other procedural arrangements—remain unchanged. Schools will conduct the examinations strictly in accordance with the revised schedule.
Quarterly Exams to Begin on September 21
Quarterly examinations for Classes 1 to 8 will commence on September 21, 2026. The exam for Hindi will be held on the first day, followed by Mathematics on September 22 and English on September 23. For Classes 3 to 5, the Environmental Studies exam is scheduled for September 24.
For Classes 6 to 8, the schedule includes Science on September 23, English on September 24, Social Science on September 25, and Sanskrit on September 26. No subject-wise exams have been scheduled for Classes 1 and 2 after September 24, whereas exams for Classes 3 to 5 will conclude on September 24.
Examination Timings
The examination timing for primary and middle school levels has been set from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Meanwhile, for Classes 9 to 12—covering the High School and Higher Secondary levels—the examination will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Schedule for Classes 9 to 12
Quarterly examinations for Classes 9 and 10 will also begin on September 21, 2026. For Class 9, exams will be conducted for Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and Sanskrit (along with other third languages), respectively.
For Class 10, the examinations will be held as follows: Mathematics on the first day, Hindi on the second, English on the third, Social Science on the fourth, Sanskrit and other third languages on the fifth, and Science on the sixth day.
Examinations for Classes 11 and 12 will be conducted according to the respective streams and subjects. These include Hindi, English, Physics, Geography, Business Studies, Chemistry, Accountancy, Political Science, Biology, Economics, Sociology, and other subjects.
Schedule for Vocational Subjects
The timetable also includes examinations for vocational subjects for Classes 9 through 12. These subjects include IT, Organized Retail, Automobile Service Technician, Healthcare, Agriculture, Beauty and Wellness, Telecommunication, Banking & Financial Services, among others.
Examinations for vocational subjects for Classes 9 and 10 will be held on September 28, 2026. Vocational subject exams for Classes 11 and 12 are scheduled for September 30, 2026.
Half-Yearly Examinations Starting December 1
According to the revised timetable, half-yearly examinations for Classes 1 through 8 will commence on December 1, 2026. The Hindi exam will be held on the first day, followed by Mathematics on December 2. On December 3, the English exam will be conducted for Classes 1 through 5, while the Science exam will be held for Classes 6 through 8.
Subsequently, on December 4, the Environmental Studies exam will take place for Classes 3 through 5, and the English exam for Classes 6 through 8. Social Science exams for Classes 6 through 8 are scheduled for December 5, and the Sanskrit exam for December 7. Half-yearly examinations for Classes 9 through 12 will also begin on December 1, 2026, with subject-wise exams continuing until December 11.
