The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a recruitment notification for 1,748 Junior Engineer (JE) posts. Candidates interested in applying for the SSC JE post can apply via the official website, ssc.gov.in. The last date to apply is September 22. This recruitment drive is being conducted for Group ‘B’ (Level-6) posts across Central Government organizations and departments, including CPWD, MES, BRO, and IMD.

Qualification
Candidates must possess a degree or diploma (BE/B.Tech/Diploma) in the relevant engineering field.
Age Limit
The upper age limit for candidates ranges from 30 to 32 years, depending on the specific post. Candidates are entitled to age relaxation as per government regulations.
Application Fee
Candidates belonging to the General category are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. Candidates belonging to reserved categories—such as women and Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST)—are exempted from paying any application fee.
Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected based on a written examination and document verification. The written examination will consist of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will comprise three sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and the subject-specific section. The duration of this examination will be 2 hours.
Paper 2 will consist of three parts: Part A (General Engineering – Civil & Structural), Part B (General Engineering – Electrical), or Part C (General Engineering – Mechanical). The duration of this examination will also be 2 hours.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be remunerated under Pay Level 6. The salary will range from ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400, inclusive of a Grade Pay of ₹4,200. The basic pay will be ₹35,400. Additionally, candidates will receive House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), and Traveling Allowance (TA).
