CG College Admission: There is welcome news for students who missed out on college admissions in Chhattisgarh. The state government has extended the deadline for college admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. Students can now secure admission against vacant seats until September 19, 2026. This provides another opportunity for those who, for various reasons, could not enroll within the originally scheduled timeframe. The Department of Higher Education has issued an official order regarding this from the Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan) in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. Previously, the deadline for admissions for the 2026-27 session had been set for August 31, 2026. Students had been consistently demanding an extension of the admission date. Additionally, considering the number of vacant seats across various educational institutions in the state, the government decided to extend the admission period.
Admission against vacant seats available until September 19
According to the directives of the Department of Higher Education, the admission process will be conducted based on the vacant seats available in state colleges and affiliated educational institutions. Students now have the opportunity to enroll until September 19. This decision brings the greatest relief to students who had not completed the application process or who, despite applying, were unable to secure admission. Such students can now obtain information regarding the admission process and seat availability from the respective colleges and enroll within the extended deadline.
Colleges must conduct the process transparently
The government has instructed the Directorate of Higher Education to ensure the admission process is completed based on the vacant seats available in all relevant educational institutions. Colleges are required to finalize the admission process by September 19, 2026. They must adhere to the rules regarding seat availability and admission regulations. This will enable students to secure admission based on information about vacant seats. The government has mandated that the admission process be carried out transparently.
Appeal to students to enroll promptly
With the extension of the admission deadline, students now have a limited window of time to complete their enrollment. In light of this, students who have not yet secured admission to a college are advised to contact the respective institution to inquire about vacant seats and the admission process. The Higher Education Minister has also urged students not to wait for the deadline but to complete their admission formalities as soon as possible. This government decision has brought relief to students and parents across the state who had been waiting for an extension of the admission deadline.
