Raipur: A major change is set to take place in the e-tendering system of the Chhattisgarh Public Works Department (PWD). Starting October 1, 2026, the creation and publication of the department’s new tenders will be conducted through the new government e-procurement portal. All processes—ranging from tender issuance to bid receipt, evaluation, and other online procedures—will now be managed on this new platform.
Before implementing the new system, the department has instructed officials and contractors to complete all necessary preparations within the stipulated timeframe to avoid facing any technical or administrative issues once the new system goes live.
Mandatory Registration on the New Portal for Contractors
Registration on the new portal has been made mandatory for all contractors wishing to participate in new tenders. VK Bhatpahari, Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, has sent letters to departmental officials as well as to contractor association presidents Viresh Shukla and Rupesh Singhal.
Through these letters, officials and association office-bearers have been asked to disseminate information about the new e-tendering system down to the grassroots level and encourage all relevant contractors to register on the new portal promptly. The department aims to have all contractors integrated into the new system before October 1, ensuring the smooth operation of new tenders without any hindrances.
Deadline of March 31, 2027, for Existing Tenders
The department has also clarified the status of previously issued tenders. Processes related to tenders published on the old e-procurement portal—such as bid receipt, evaluation, approval, and other pending online activities—will continue to be completed on the old portal until March 31, 2027.
No actions related to tenders will be carried out on the old e-procurement portal after March 31, 2027. Following this date, the old system will be completely discontinued, and the use of the new platform will become mandatory for all future tenders. Preparations at the departmental level have been intensified to ensure the smooth implementation of the new e-tendering system. Instructions have been issued to all tender-inviting officers, members of technical and financial evaluation committees, and concerned staff to complete the necessary administrative procedures on time.
In this regard, the concerned officials and staff have been directed to immediately complete the processes of creating user IDs, completing role mapping, and obtaining Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs).
The department aims to ensure that, starting October 1, the entire process for all new tenders is conducted through the new government portal without any technical or administrative hurdles.
