Teacher Recruitment 2026: The recruitment process for teachers in Chhattisgarh’s government schools and Swami Atmanand Utkrisht English Medium Schools is currently underway. A total of 6,812 teaching positions are being filled across the state. According to the Directorate of Public Instruction, direct recruitment examinations for 5,000 regular teaching posts in government schools will be conducted through the Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board. The regular recruitment drive includes 2,292 posts for Assistant Teachers, 200 for Assistant Teachers (Science/Laboratory), 1,654 for Teachers, and 854 for Lecturers. These comprise 2,227 posts in the ‘E-cadre’ and 2,773 posts in the ‘T-cadre’.
Dates Announced for Three Recruitment Exams
The examination schedule for teacher recruitment has also been released. According to the schedule, the written examination for the Assistant Teacher post will be held on October 11, 2026; the exam for the Teacher post on October 25, 2026; and the exam for the Lecturer post on November 29, 2026.
However, the exam date for the Assistant Teacher (Science/Laboratory) post has not yet been finalized.
The online application process for Assistant Teacher and Teacher posts has already concluded, while the online application process for Lecturer posts is expected to begin soon.
1,812 Contractual Posts in Atmanand Schools
Additionally, the School Education Department is preparing to recruit for 1,812 contractual teaching positions in Swami Atmanand Utkrisht English Medium Schools. For the first time, a centralized computer-based recruitment examination will be conducted for these posts. The notification for this recruitment is set to be issued in September 2026, with online applications scheduled to commence in October 2026. According to the Education Department, recruitment for these positions is being conducted through competitive examinations with the aim of strengthening the quality of education in government and ‘Excellence’ schools. This recruitment process will lead to the appointment of a large number of teachers in the state’s government and ‘Excellence’ schools.
