Raipur: Preparations for the inaugural season of the Chhattisgarh Hockey League have commenced. Six teams, representing various regions of the state, will compete in the league. The Department of Sports and Youth Welfare has initiated the player selection process for these teams. Selection trials will be held on September 28 and 29 at Pitch-1 of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium in Raipur.
The trials will begin at 9:00 AM. The Department of Sports and Youth Welfare has assigned responsibility to three officials for the smooth conduct of the selection process, necessary coordination, and technical arrangements. In accordance with the department’s directives, players will be selected based on the rules and criteria established by the Chhattisgarh Hockey Association.
Akanksha Shiksha Khalkho, Director of the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, has issued a circular to the Chhattisgarh Hockey Association, instructing them to complete all necessary preparations for the selection trials. The department has also requested a written outline of the pre-determined selection criteria and the entire process prior to the commencement of the trials.
The department has mandated that the selection process be conducted transparently and in compliance with established rules. Following the selection, a list of players included in the six teams and a report detailing the entire selection process must be submitted to the Directorate of Sports.
Officials Assigned Responsibility
Three officials have been entrusted with the responsibility of managing technical and organizational arrangements for the selection trials. These include Sports Officer Dinu Prasad Patel, Senior Hockey Coach Rashmi Sandhya Ekka (Raipur), and Senior Hockey Coach Rakesh Toppo (Bilaspur).
The 6 Teams Participating in the League
Six teams representing different regions of the state will participate in the first season of the Chhattisgarh Hockey League. These teams are Rajdhani Royals, Chitrakoot Challengers, Sanskardhani Strikers, Chakradhar Champions, Nyaydhani Knights, and Mainpat Titans.
Player selection trials for these six teams will take place on September 28 and 29, starting at 9:00 AM, at Pitch-1 of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium, Raipur.
