New Weather System Forming in the Bay of Bengal
A low-pressure area forming near the coast of southern Myanmar is a key factor behind this change in weather. This system formed on September 27. Over the next 24 hours, it is likely to move towards the North Andaman Sea and the Irrawaddy Delta in Myanmar. Subsequently, it may move in a north-northwesterly direction, parallel to the coasts of Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Alert for Rain and Strong Winds in These States
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain for Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, as well as parts of South India.
Some locations may experience thunderstorms and strong winds alongside the rain. People in areas prone to lightning strikes are advised to avoid venturing into open spaces.
Risk of Flash Floods in Uttarakhand
Special caution regarding the weather is required in hilly states. Heavy rain, accompanied by storms and lightning, is forecast for Uttarakhand on September 28.
There is a reported risk of flash floods in parts of Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag over the next 24 hours. In light of this, travelers heading to hilly regions are advised to check weather conditions before setting out.

There is a possibility of flash floods occurring in certain areas of Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts. Extra caution is required near rivers, streams, and vulnerable mountain roads during periods of continuous rainfall.

Following recent heavy downpours in Uttar Pradesh, there are indications that the intensity of rainfall is now subsiding. Extremely heavy rainfall was recorded in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and very heavy rainfall in Western Uttar Pradesh on September 27.

Rainfall is expected to persist in Madhya Pradesh starting September 28. According to the Meteorological Department, rain may occur in Western Madhya Pradesh until September 30 and in the eastern region until October 1.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning strikes may also occur in several locations during this period. People have been advised to exercise caution and keep an eye on local weather warnings during inclement weather.
