CG Ration: There is welcome news for ration card holders in Chhattisgarh ahead of Navratri. The state government has facilitated the collection of rice allocations for both September and October simultaneously. Beneficiaries who were unable to collect their rations within the initial timeframe have now been granted an extension; the Food Department has extended the deadline for collecting rations to October 15.
The Food Department opened the online portal for this purpose on October 1. Consequently, eligible ration card holders who have not yet received their rations for September and October can collect the rice for both months together by October 15.
Rice for September and October Available Until October 15
The state government had previously set a deadline of September 30 for the simultaneous distribution of rice for September and October. However, many beneficiaries could not collect their rations within that period. In view of this, the government extended the collection deadline to October 15.
According to the Food Department’s directives, eligible beneficiaries will now be provided with rice for both September and October up to October 15. Those who missed collecting their September ration for any reason will also be able to avail themselves of this facility.
Shopkeepers Cannot Refuse to Provide Ration
The Food Department has issued instructions to the operators of all ration shops in the state regarding this matter. It is mandatory to provide the prescribed ration for both September and October to eligible beneficiaries.
If a ration shopkeeper refuses to provide the ration to an eligible beneficiary, action may be taken against them in accordance with the rules. Therefore, beneficiaries can visit their ration shop before the October 15 deadline to inquire about and collect the ration for both months.
Ration Collection from Any Shop via Core PDS
In Chhattisgarh, eligible ration card holders can avail of the facility to collect rations under the Core PDS system. This allows beneficiaries to collect their rice from any ration shop, subject to the facilities available in the state. Ration card holders who did not receive their ration for the month of September can now visit the ration shop before October 15 and collect the rice for both September and October together.
