A wave of grief has swept through the film industry following the news of veteran actor Nana Patekar’s passing. The 75-year-old actor has bid farewell to the world. Reports indicate that Nana Patekar was found unconscious at his home in Dona Paula, Goa. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Dona Paula, where doctors declared him dead.
According to reports, Nana Patekar suffered a severe cardiac arrest. Upon his arrival at the hospital, doctors attempted to revive him for approximately 45 minutes, but he could not be saved. News of his demise has cast a pall of gloom over the entire entertainment world, including Bollywood.
Nana Patekar’s Final Films
Nana Patekar was last seen in the film Housefull 5, released in 2025. In this movie, he shared the screen with actors such as Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Chitrangada Singh, and Nargis Fakhri.
Additionally, Nana Patekar made special appearances in the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Oh Romeo and Anil Kapoor’s Subhedar.
Played a Pivotal Role in the Kargil War
Beyond acting, Nana Patekar shared a deep bond with the cause of national service. During the 1999 Kargil War, he took a break from his acting career to contribute alongside the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment.
Throughout his long cinematic career, Nana Patekar carved a distinct niche for himself not only in acting but also in film production and screenwriting. He earned a special place in the hearts of audiences by portraying a variety of powerful characters, including police officers, across numerous films.
Honored with Prestigious Awards
Nana Patekar received three National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards in recognition of his outstanding acting. In 2013, he was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan, one of the country’s prestigious civilian awards.
The news of his passing has left the Hindi film industry in deep mourning over the loss of a great artist.
