Why was there a controversy over the title ‘Ghooskhor Pandit’?
The film was announced in February of this year under the title ‘Ghooskhor Pandit’. However, the title immediately sparked controversy, with allegations that it hurt religious and caste-based sentiments. An FIR was filed against the film’s director and his team at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow. Meanwhile, in Bhopal, there were protests against the film, with demands for it to be banned.
As the controversy escalated, the matter reached the Supreme Court. Subsequently, the producers decided to rename the film ‘Gajab Raat’. It will now be presented to the audience under this new title.
