Korba: A case of murder has been reported from Korba, Chhattisgarh, where a young man was killed in a stabbing incident during the Dussehra celebrations. A dispute broke out between two groups of youths at the Dussehra grounds in the Mudapar market area during the ‘Ravan Dahan’ (effigy burning) ceremony. The situation quickly turned violent, and Rahul Kumar, alias ‘Golden’, was subjected to a frenzied knife attack, which resulted in his death. The police have arrested three suspects, while one other suspect remains at large.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Manikpur police outpost. On Tuesday night, a large crowd had gathered at the Dussehra grounds for the Ravan Dahan event. During this time, an argument erupted between two groups of youths. As the dispute escalated, members of one group attacked Rahul with knives. The incident caused widespread panic in the area. Upon receiving the information, the police launched a search operation for the suspects, which continued throughout the night.
The police have successfully arrested three individuals, and efforts are underway to locate the remaining suspect who is still on the run. The arrested suspects are being interrogated to determine the underlying cause of the dispute and the subsequent murder. A forensic team has also collected technical evidence from the crime scene.
