CG Weather Update: Threat of a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal! Weather to change in Chhattisgarh amidst the cold—get the latest update.

CG Weather Update: The weather pattern in Chhattisgarh is likely to change in the coming days. A low-pressure area that has formed over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm. As a result, rainfall activity across the state may increase starting October 27. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in southern Chhattisgarh on October 28 and 29. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next three days.

Weather to remain dry for now

According to data from the Meteorological Department, rainfall activity has currently ceased across the state, and the weather remains dry in most areas. No significant changes in the weather are expected over the next two days. Regarding temperatures, the highest maximum temperature was recorded in Bemetara at 33.9°C, while the lowest minimum temperature was 13.9°C in Ambikapur.

What will the weather be like in Raipur?

In the capital, Raipur, the sky is expected to remain mostly clear on October 24. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 33°C, and the minimum temperature around 22°C. However, as the weather shifts in the coming days, a drop in temperature may be observed.

Potential for a cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal

According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area has formed over the south-eastern and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal. It is expected to gradually intensify—potentially becoming a depression by October 24, a deep depression by October 25, and a cyclonic storm by October 26.

This weather system is also expected to impact Chhattisgarh. Under its influence, rainfall activity is likely to intensify from October 27 onwards. In particular, some areas in southern Chhattisgarh could experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on October 28 and 29. Consequently, as the state begins to transition into the colder season, a shift in the overall weather pattern is anticipated.
