CG Weather Update: Cyclone to shift weather patterns; rain expected in several districts of Chhattisgarh

CG Weather Update: The weather pattern in Chhattisgarh is set to change. A cyclonic storm active in the Bay of Bengal is expected to impact several parts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, the storm is likely to intensify further starting October 27. It is projected to reach the coast of Andhra Pradesh on the morning of October 28 and cross the coastline between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam. As a result, heavy rainfall is expected in many locations across Chhattisgarh on October 28 and 29.

Continued Drop in Temperatures

Currently, the weather across the state remains dry, with a persistent decline in morning and nighttime temperatures. On Sunday, a maximum temperature of 32.6°C was recorded in Raipur, while Ambikapur saw a minimum temperature of 12.5°C. The Meteorological Department indicates that the weather is likely to remain dry across the state on October 26 as well. In the capital, Raipur, the sky is expected to remain clear, with a maximum temperature of around 32°C and a minimum of approximately 20°C.

Possibility of Thunderstorms and Strong Winds

The cyclonic storm is expected to affect parts of the state, with the exception of the Surguja division. Its impact may begin to be felt in the Bastar division from October 27, subsequently spreading to the Raipur, Durg, and Bilaspur divisions by October 29. During this period, some areas may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall. Additionally, there is a risk of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.
