‘Temple’ device gains attention via a podcast
Public interest in the ‘Temple’ device grew after Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal was seen wearing it during an appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast. Following this, there was growing curiosity among people about the actual function of this device, which is worn on the temple.
Badminton player PV Sindhu has also been seen wearing this device during live matches, which has further fueled discussions surrounding this wearable.
What is ‘Temple’ and how does it work?
While smartwatches are typically used to track activities such as step counts, heart rate, and sleep patterns, ‘Temple’ is being developed to monitor changes in blood flow within the brain.
According to the company, the device utilizes ‘BrainFlow’ technology, which is claimed to track various parameters, including signals related to blood flow and oxygen levels in the brain.
It is worn on the temple—the area on the side of the head, between the forehead and the ear. To secure the device to the skin, single-use adhesive strips called ‘Grips’ are used.
‘Entropy Score’ to provide insights into physical stress
‘Temple’ uses an ‘Entropy Score’ to interpret signals related to physical stress. The score ranges from 1 to 250. Factors such as sleep, exercise, stress, and caffeine intake can influence this score.
It should be noted that this device is designed for wellness and research purposes; it is not intended to serve as a substitute for medical examinations or the diagnosis of any medical condition.
Available in six color options
According to reports, the ‘Temple’ wearable will initially be offered in six colors: True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue, and Purple Funk. Currently, information regarding a price of ₹85,000 and the commencement of pre-orders on November 1, 2026, has emerged based on early-access invites. Definitive details concerning the device’s official price, the number of units available, and delivery arrangements will only become clear following an official announcement from the company.
