Elections 2024: Does BJP Place Trust in Turncoats? 116 Out of 417 Candidates Outsiders, 20 of 64 UP Candidates Turncoats!

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP has given tickets to the maximum number of 20 turncoats in UP. In Tamil Nadu too, the party has given tickets to 12 such leaders. The only candidate from Puducherry is also a turncoat.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced the names of more than 400 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The ruling party is trying to form the government for the third consecutive time and win more than 400 seats along with its allies. The Bharatiya Janata Party is making every effort to achieve its goal. In such a situation, this time the BJP has not refrained from giving tickets to outside leaders. 28 percent of the party’s candidates are those who have come from another party.

There are a total of 80 Lok Sabha seats in the country’s largest state Uttar Pradesh and BJP has so far fielded candidates on 64 seats here and on 20 seats, it has given tickets to candidates who changed sides and joined the party before the elections. Apart from this, BJP has given tickets to 11 turncoats in Tamil Nadu, 8 in West Bengal and Odisha, and 7 in Maharashtra.

116 turncoats in 21 states

The BJP has given tickets to turncoats in 18 states and 3 union territories. Out of the party’s 417 candidates, 116 have joined the party only recently. In this sense, 27.82 percent of BJP’s candidates are turncoats. In Puducherry, the party’s only candidate has come from another party. Whereas, in Andhra Pradesh, 5 out of 6 candidates of the party have switched sides. In Telangana, BJP has fielded 17 candidates and 12 of them are those who have switched sides and joined the party.

More than 50 percent turncoats in 6 states

There are 6 states where the BJP is dependent on turncoats. 83 percent of the candidates in Andhra Pradesh, 60 percent in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Haryana, 100 percent in Puducherry, 70.59 percent in Telangana and 66 percent in Punjab are those who switched sides and joined the party before the elections and now they have got tickets.
