However, the police, fire brigade and NDRF team reached the spot and evacuated most of the people in time. There is still a possibility of 2 people being trapped in the debris. The rescue operation is still going on. It is being told that the building had become very weak.

Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Kailash Shinde said that the building collapsed around 5:30 am. Shinde further said, ‘This is a G+3 building. Shahbaz Village comes under Belapur ward. There were 13 flats in the building. Two people have been rescued and two are feared trapped. NDRF teams are on the spot. Rescue operations are underway.’

Action will be taken against the landlord

Municipal Commissioner Shinde gave detailed information on this. He said that two people rescued from the debris of the building have been admitted to a nearby hospital. Their condition is said to be stable. At the same time, this building is only 10 years old. The reason behind its collapse is being investigated. At the same time, he also talked about taking action against the owner of the building.

A week ago, a similar incident happened in South Mumbai. A part of the balcony of a four-storey residential building broke and fell down. An 80-year-old woman died after being buried under it. Four people were injured in the incident. Let us tell you that for the past few days, Mumbai and surrounding districts have been receiving heavy rainfall. Roads, railway routes and residential areas have been flooded. Tulsi Lake, which supplies water to Mumbai, started overflowing due to heavy rains.
