Parliament Session: Parliament proceedings have once again started during the monsoon session. But once again there was a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha over Jaya Bachchan. Actually, Ghanshyam Tiwari had made an unparliamentary comment on LOP a few days ago, on which a notice was given by the opposition. The opposition had raised that issue today, during which the chairman made a comment on Jaya Bachchan, after which the opposition MPs walked out.

Tiruchi Siva, Jaya Bachchan supported the speech of Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge in Rajya Sabha. SP MP Bachchan told Dhankhar that his tone is “not acceptable”. Dhankhar told Jaya Bachchan that you have not seen what I am seeing from here. He further said that he “does not want to go to school.”
Strong protests in Rajya Sabha as Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed displeasure over Jaya Bachchan’s comments and opposition’s demands. You want to destabilise the entire country, Dhankhar told the opposition protesting in the House. “Kharge, I will not be a party to letting this House become a centre of unrest,” he said. “You are determined to get your way at the cost of the Constitution,” Dhankhar said.
In Rajya Sabha, the opposition walked out of the House, with Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar calling it a “sad day”. Dhankhar told the ruling party present in the House that the world is recognising us and we are moving towards a “developed India”, but “these people want to create obstacles”. Dhankhar said in the House, “India is continuously leading in its third term – history is being made after six decades. India has a leader in the form of a Prime Minister who has global recognition – the country is proud of this.”

Speaking in the House, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, “This House is not just a brick-mortar building, it is the sacred temple of democracy. I have been a member of the Lok Sabha 6 times and the Vidhan Sabha 6 times. But I have never seen such unbridled behavior of the opposition in my life. This is not only an insult to the chair, it is an insult to the democratic values, democracy and the Constitution of the country. Today it has been proved that the irresponsible opposition is trying to push the country towards anarchy. The opposition should apologize for this.”

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said, “It has been a tradition that when the leader of the House or the leader of the opposition, which is a constitutional post, stands up to speak, both should be given priority. But this is not being followed. Ghanshyam Tiwari has used such language and tone in the House, which lacks dignity. After this, he accepted his mistake but in a personal capacity. We demand that since the incident happened in the House, he should accept his mistake in the House. Jaya Bachchan, who is the most senior member, has also said the same thing and we all stand with her.”

They said you may be a celebrity, I don’t care. I am not asking them to care. I am saying that I am a member of Parliament. This is my fifth term. I know what I am saying. The way things are being said in Parliament these days, no one has ever spoken before. I want an apology.”

Recently in Rajya Sabha, BJP MP Ghanshyam Tiwari had made some comments on the Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge in the House which irked the Congress. After protests, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar tried to reconcile between Kharge and Tiwari in his room. According to the information, Tiwari praised Kharge a lot in the closed room.
Today, Congress demanded that Tiwari should say his part inside the House and express regret. The Speaker was not ready for this. Kharge was not getting a chance to speak. During this, Jaya Bachchan stood up and questioned Dhankar’s style. When the Speaker replied, Jaya got angry and the opposition walked out. Jaya Bachchan came out and demanded an apology. During this, most of the opposition MPs including Sonia Gandhi were standing with Jaya Bachchan.
The original case was Ghanshyam Tiwari vs Kharge which has now become Dhankar vs Jaya Bachchan. After the opposition walked out, the ruling party passed a censure motion against them.
