In a concerted effort to inspire the youth of Upper Assam towards a career in uniform, the Red Shield Gunners, under the aegis of the Spear Corps, organised a comprehensive Army Awareness Lecture at Kalakata Higher Secondary School in DK Gaon, Charaideo on Tuesday. The session was designed to sensitise students to the myriad entry schemes available within the Indian Army. Detailed presentations were made regarding the eligibility criteria and selection procedures for various ranks, ranging from Commissioned Officers to Other Ranks (OR).
The lecture provided the students with a roadmap for career progression, highlighting the rigorous training avenues and the disciplined lifestyle offered by the Armed Forces. According to a spokesperson, the primary objective was to motivate young minds to embrace a path of leadership and selfless service to the nation.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both the student body and faculty members. An interactive Q&A session followed the lecture, where students actively sought guidance on physical and academic preparation for the recruitment process.
Reaffirming their commitment to civil-military outreach, the Red Shield Gunners emphasised that such initiatives are vital for strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and the local community, while fostering a sense of pride and honour in serving the country.
