Gyanvapi Case Update: After the survey report of Gyanvapi became public, the Varanasi police has come on high alert mode. Police Commissioner Mutha Ashok Jain directed that caution should be exercised in the checking operation.

Today is Republic Day along with Friday prayers. In this regard, Commissionerate Police and LIU have been instructed to be more alert.

If police sources are to be believed, all social media platforms are being seriously monitored. If anyone tries to spoil the atmosphere by spreading rumours, it should be immediately refuted and effective preventive action should be taken against the person concerned.

In fact, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey report of the Gyanvapi complex was made public by the parties to the case on Wednesday. During the survey, evidence related to the temple was found at 32 places. The survey report given by the parties is of 839 pages.

The court of District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh had on Wednesday ordered to give the survey report of Gyanvapi to Hindu and Muslim parties. The parties received its copy from the court on Thursday. After this, senior Supreme Court advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, on behalf of the Hindu side, spoke to the journalists and said that the survey proved that Gyanvapi was a big Hindu temple. It was demolished and converted into a mosque. Now a survey of the sealed warehouse will be requested.

It may be noted that on December 18, ASI had submitted the study report in a sealed envelope in the court. On the same day, the Hindu side had demanded the court to make the survey report public. But the Muslim side had objected to this. However, later the Muslim side also demanded handing over the copy from the court, the hearing on which was to be held on January 3.

However, the hearing did not take place that day. After this, a hearing took place in the court on 5 January. But no decision came. After this, in the hearing on January 24, the court gave its verdict regarding giving hard copies of the survey report to both the parties.

The other side, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has raised questions on the report prepared by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) regarding Gyanvapi Masjid. He has called ASI a puppet in the hands of Hindutva. The ASI report said that before the construction of Gyanvapi Mosque, there was a huge temple here and the mosque has been built on the remains of the temple.

What did Owaisi say?

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said on social media platform X, ‘It will not survive academic scrutiny by any group of professional archaeologists or historians. The report is based on conjecture and makes a mockery of scientific studies. As a great scholar once said, ASI is a puppet in the hands of Hindutva.

What has the Hindu side claimed?

Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said that the ASI report indicated that the Gyanvapi Mosque has been built on the remains of an already existing temple. Copies of the 839-page ASI report have been handed over to all parties. Jain claims that there is enough evidence of the existence of the temple in the survey report. He claimed that during the survey, remains of idols of Hindu deities were also found in two basements.
