Hemant Soren:Â Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s troubles are increasing in the money laundering case related to alleged land fraud in Jharkhand. Central agency ED is searching for him to record his statement. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Soren has written a letter to ED accusing it of taking action as per political agenda. Along with this, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has asked its and alliance MLAs to stay in Ranchi only.
JMM general secretary and spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey told PTI that in view of the current political situation, all MLAs of the ruling alliance have been instructed to stay in Ranchi. JMM, Congress and RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) are the members of the ruling coalition.
What did Soren say in the letter?
Jharkhand Chief Minister wrote in the letter sent to ED, “You are well aware that the budget session of the Assembly is between 2nd and 29th February 2024 and apart from other pre-scheduled engagements, you will be busy in preparations for the same. Under these circumstances, 31st January Your insistence on filing another statement on or before 2024 is malicious. It exposes your political agenda of disrupting the functioning of the state government and preventing an elected representative of the people from discharging his official duties.”
Earlier, a team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday reached the residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Delhi regarding money laundering in the alleged land fraud case. This ED team stayed here for more than 13 hours. During this he searched the premises.
Earlier, on January 20, the Enforcement Directorate had interrogated Hemant Soren at his official residence in Ranchi. After that, ED issued a fresh summons and asked him to tell on which day he would come for questioning between January 29 or January 31.
Where is Hemant Soren?
There is no information about where Hemant Soren is after coming to Delhi. His chartered plane is standing at Delhi airport. The phones of many of his staff are switched off. His BMW car was seized by ED yesterday (Monday). His driver was also interrogated, but nothing was found about Soren.
