Farmer’s Protest: Chandigarh. After the farmers’ movement, now the effect of Bharat Bandh has also been seen in Haryana . Bus movement has come to a standstill in the state. At the same time, farmers ‘ agitations have made toll plazas free. It is a matter of relief that there is no news of violence from anywhere during Bharat Bandh. On the other hand, the impact of Bharat Bandh has been less in some districts of Haryana.
According to the information, farmers have freed the tow plaza in Karnal. Toll will not be taken from any vehicle here from 12 o’clock to 4 o’clock. Officials of Bharatiya Kisan Union Chaduni Group sat near the toll plaza and a large number of police personnel have also been deployed here. Similarly, toll plaza in Panipat has also been made free.
Road has been blocked in Ambala of the state. Private bus union has also joined the chakka jam. Roadways officer says that some unions of roadways have taken part in Bharat Bandh. Buses from Ambala are running regularly. Around 180 out of 200 buses are running at Ambala depot. Farmers have made Ramayan Toll Plaza located on National Highway-9 in Hisar district free. Also, farmers are protesting against toll on Sirsa-Delhi highway.
Condition of Charkhi Dadri
Apart from farmer organizations, trade unions and Panchayat Khaps have got Morwala toll located on Delhi Road of Charkhi Dadri closed. Also Dadri-Delhi road has been blocked. Due to this, long lines of vehicles have formed on both sides of the road.
Apart from various farmer organizations including CITU State President Surekha Devi, officials of Phogat and Sangwan Khap have also reached the spot. Farmers are standing at the toll with their tractors and protesting against their demands.
Roadways employees have started a dharna at Dadri bus stand by blocking the buses at the bus stand. On the other hand, very little impact of Bharat Bandh has been seen in Sonipat. The situation here is normal like everyday. The situation is more or less similar in Bhiwani district also. Farmers have made Bamla toll free on Bhiwani-Rohtak road and Kitlana toll on Bhiwani-Dadri road.
The effect of traffic jam is visible in religious city Kurukshetra
Passengers are facing problems due to non-operation of roadways buses at Kurukshetra bus stand. Transport workers said that they have open support for the farmers. Roadways worker Ranjit Karora said that due to Bharat Bandh, the road is being blocked today on the call of the trade union due to the wrong policies of the government. He said that the main demands are hit and run, restoration of old pension, removing discrepancies in the salaries of employees.
Apart from this, the trade union also supports the farmers. Transport worker Narendra Panchal said that Haryana Roadways Sanjha Morcha is opposing the wrong policies of the government. Information has been given by the Union of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking in the capital of Haryana that all our buses are running and we are not part of the strike.
