According to sources, Congress Treasurer Ajay Maken is exploring legal options on the orders of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal. And can go to High Court against this soon. Congress party leader Ajay Maken said that the Income Tax Tribunal’s order to stop Congress funds before the general elections is an attack on democracy. Congress legal cell chief Vivek Tankha said that he is disappointed with the order of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, which has not followed its previous precedents.

It is noteworthy that the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress on Thursday approved the names of candidates for about 40 seats in Chhattisgarh, Kerala and many other states for the Lok Sabha elections. According to sources, the name of Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad seat of Kerala is also included in these candidates. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Sonia Gandhi and many other leaders included in the committee, in-charges and senior leaders of the respective states attended the meeting.

A total of 60 Lok Sabha seats from 11 states and union territories were discussed during the deliberations in the CEC meeting chaired by Kharge. In the CEC meeting, the names of the candidates are approved from among the names sent by various screening committees. after the meeting Congress KC Venugopal, organization general secretary, told reporters that ‘We have finalized seats from Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Lakshadweep… the process is going on, a formal announcement will be made soon.’

Congress legislature party leader in Kerala V.D. Satheesan said that the party will contest elections on 16 seats in Kerala and its allies will contest elections on four seats in the state. Satheesan said that ‘CEC has decided who will be the candidates for 16 seats.’ According to sources, Rahul Gandhi will contest elections again from Wayanad seat of Kerala.
