Haldwani Violence: On Thursday, the Municipal Corporation demolished the ‘illegally’ constructed Madrasa and Mosque in the Banbhulpura area of Haldwani in Nainital district of Uttarakhand with a JCB machine, after which curfew was imposed in view of the violent situation in the area and the rioters were arrested. Orders have been given to shoot at sight. An officer gave this information. According to the report, a total of 6 people died in the violence. Around 250 people were injured there. Haldwani’s SDM (Sub-Divisional Officer) is also included among the injured.

– At 3:00 pm, teams started gathering near Vanbhulpura police station to remove encroachment.
– At 4:23 in the evening the administrative officer team left with the police force.
– At 4:30 the team reached Malik’s garden.
– At 4.40 pm people started gathering at the encroachment site.
– People started protesting at 4.42 pm.
– At 4:44 pm people started removing the barricades installed by the police.
– At 4.51 pm, anarchist elements stopped the JCB.
– The commotion started at 4.55 pm and stone pelting took place.
– Started the action to demolish encroachment at 5.17 pm.
– People broke the JCB at 5.20 pm.
– At 5.24 pm the police fired tear gas shells at the protesters.
– At 5.35 pm the miscreants set vehicles on fire.
– Policemen injured at 5:54.
– At 6:30 the miscreants torched the police station.
– At 7:00 the injured policemen were sent to the hospital.
– At 7:30 the CM sat down and ordered the miscreants to be shot.
– Curfew order was issued in the city at 7:48.

– At 9:00 Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has called a high level meeting regarding this incident and has ordered to shoot the miscreants.
A total of 6 people have died in the violence that broke out after stone pelting and attack on police and officers who had gone to remove illegal encroachment in Malik’s garden in Vanbhoolpura in Haldwani district of Uttarakhand. Apart from this, a case will be registered under UAPA against the culprits who spread the riots.
The injured include many policemen, government employees and officers. Actually, the uproar started when the officers along with the police team demolished the madrassa and mosque which were built on government land. An illegal madrasa and mosque were built in Malik’s garden area. Police, PAC and paramilitary forces are maintaining a front in the district. The administration remained busy identifying the rioters throughout Thursday night. After the violence, CM Pushkar Dhami has taken seriously the incident of attack on police and administration officers during the removal of illegal construction in Vanbhulpura, Haldwani. He has given instructions to take strict action against those spreading unrest.
