Mukhtar Ansari Death:The postmortem of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari has confirmed that he died of a heart attack. Hospital sources gave this information. Mukhtar Ansari, accused in more than 60 cases, was lodged in Banda jail. On Thursday night, due to ill health, he was taken from the jail to Rani Durgavati Medical College, where he died of a heart attack late at night.Â
Medical College Principal Sunil Kaushal told PTI-Bhasha over the phone, “Ansari died of a heart attack at the medical college.” A senior hospital source, who was present during the postmortem on Friday, told PTI-Bhasha on the condition of anonymity, “The cause of Mukhtar Ansari’s death was found to be a heart attack (myocardial infarction).”
He refuted the allegations of slow poisoning of Mukhtar Ansari by the family members on the basis of the postmortem. The postmortem of the body was conducted by a panel of five doctors at Rani Durgavati Medical College. When the postmortem was conducted, Mukhtar Ansari’s younger son Umar Ansari was present inside the postmortem house.

Last rites will be performed today in Mohammadabad, Ghazipur
After the post-mortem, Mukhtar Ansari’s body left for Ghazipur on Friday evening amid heavy security. According to the family members, the last rites will be performed on Saturday morning in Mohammadabad, Ghazipur.Â
Mohammad Suhaib Ansari, Samajwadi Party MLA from Mohammadabad assembly seat of Ghazipur, said that his uncle Mukhtar Ansari will be buried at Kali Bagh cemetery in Yusufpur Mohammadabad (Ghazipur) at 10 am on Saturday.Â
Ansari’s family has alleged that he was given ‘slow poison’
After opposition parties raised questions on the death of Mukhtar Ansari, a magisterial inquiry was ordered on Friday. Ansari’s family has alleged that he was given ‘slow poison’ in Banda jail due to which he died. According to the order issued by Banda Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Bhagwan Das Gupta, Garima Singh Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (MP-MLA Court Banda) has been appointed as the investigating officer to investigate the case.
