Mukhtar Ansari Funeral: Thousands Gather, Laid to Rest Next to Parents; Ghazipur DM’s Stern Warning Sloganeers Under Surveillance

Mukhtar Ansari Funeral: Mukhtar Ansari was buried in Kalibagh cemetery of his ancestral home Yusufpur Mohammadabad in Ghazipur district amid tight security. A large number of people had gathered for Mukhtar’s funeral. During this, many people raised slogans, on which the DM has taken a strict stand. The DM said that videography of such people has been done. Legal action will be taken against them.

Mukhtar Ansari was buried on Saturday in Mohammadabad Yusufpur, Ghazipur. His grave is in the Kalibagh cemetery of Yusufpur. Umar Ansari and Mukhtar Ansari’s entire family were present at Mukhtar Ansari’s funeral along with Afzal Ansari. When Mukhtar’s body was being brought home from his ancestral home, his family and supporters were present there.

Mukhtar Ansari was buried in the cemetery of Yusufpur on Saturday at around 10.35 am. His grave is built next to his parents. A large number of supporters attended his funeral. Former minister Ambika Chaudhary and many SP leaders attended the funeral. Mukhtar Ansari’s funeral took place at around 9.25 am. Police force and security agencies were constantly monitoring the situation there. A security cordon was made from Ansari’s residence to Kalibagh cemetery, about half a kilometer away.

Earlier, Mukhtar Ansari’s body was brought to his ancestral residence in Mohammadabad Yusufpur in Ghazipur district late on Friday night. Mukhtar’s body was handed over to his younger son Umar Ansari, daughter-in-law Nikhat Ansari and two cousins. For security reasons, 24 vehicles of police officers are in the convoy and two vehicles belonged to Ansari’s family.

During the funeral

procession, police, PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) and paramilitary personnel were deployed at every nook and corner. A local citizen said that Ansari family members have been buried in Kalibagh and a pit was dug near the grave of Mukhtar’s parents to bury him. 

DM warned of action

Ghazipur DM Aryaka Akhouri said, videography of all those who raised slogans has been done and action will be taken against all of them. Because, we were repeatedly announcing that there is a model code of conduct, so everyone should behave according to it. Legal action will be taken against whoever has violated it and a case will be registered. 

People who came to attend Mukhtar Ansari’s funeral raised slogans during this time. Many people were also seen raising slogans like Mukhtar Ansari Zindabad. Regarding which DM Aryaka Akhouri said, after observing the videography of the sloganeering incident, whoever has raised which slogan will be investigated and action will be taken accordingly. 

Heated debate between Ghazipur DM and Afzal Ansari

After the burial of Mukhtar Ansari, there was a heated debate between MP Afzal Ansari and Ghazipur DM. If sources are to be believed, the district administration wanted that the process of Mukhtar’s last rites be completed soon. Whereas the family did not agree to this. In such a situation, after the completion of the last rites, the differences on this issue came out in the open. There was a heated debate between Ghazipur DM and Afzal Ansari.

Earlier, the funeral procession was taken out from Mukhtar’s ancestral house at around 10 am in which his family members and supporters including his MP brother Afzal Ansari, son Umar Ansari and nephew MLA Suhaib Ansari were present. Apart from many people from the village, people from many nearby districts also came to attend Mukhtar’s funeral.

Let us tell you that Mukhtar Ansari was taken from Banda District Jail to Rani Durgavati Medical College after his health deteriorated on Thursday, where he died of a heart attack. Mukhtar’s family had accused Ansari of being given slow poison in jail. However, Ansari’s postmortem has confirmed that he died of a heart attack.
