After meeting displaced people from the Meitei and Kuki-Zomi communities in his first visit to strife-torn Manipur after becoming the Leader of Opposition (LoP), Rahul Gandhi said he wanted to give a message, reports the Indian Express. “I have come here as your brother. From there, he returned to Silchar and flew to Imphal, and then traveled to Churachandpur district. On his way back to Imphal, he stopped at Moirang in Bishnupur district and met displaced people at both places. During this, he also met Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey.
