Swati Maliwal assault case: Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has given her first interview after the assault on her. Talking to news agency ANI on Thursday, she said that she had gone to meet Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at CM residence on May 13 at around 9 am. There the staff made her sit in the drawing room and said that Kejriwal is at home and is coming to meet her.
At that moment Bibhav Kumar comes there and starts beating me. Bibhav slapped me seven-eight times. When I tried to push him away, he caught my leg and dragged me down. Maliwal further said that my head hit the central table. I fell down. Then he started kicking me. I screamed very loudly, but no one came to help.
Maliwal has alleged that Kejriwal’s PA Bibhav Kumar assaulted her on May 13. The police registered an FIR in the case on May 16 and arrested Bibhav Kumar. He is currently in police custody for five days.

Question: It is not possible that someone is being beaten up in the CM’s house and no one comes out of the house?
Answer: This is a very strange thing. I was screaming loudly. The truth is that no one came to help.
Question: Did Bibhav hit you on someone’s instructions?
Answer: Did Bibhav hit you on his own or did he hit you on someone’s instructions? This is now part of the investigation. I am fully cooperating with Delhi Police. I am not giving clean chit to anyone, because the fact is that I was in the drawing room. I was screaming. Kejriwal ji was at home, but still no one came to help.
I did not think what will happen to me? What will happen to my career? What will these people do to me? I just thought about what I have told all women – stand with the truth. If something wrong has happened to you, then fight. Then how can I not fight myself?
Question: What is Bibhav Kumar’s role in the party?
Answer: Bibhav Kumar is Arvind Kejriwal’s biggest confidant, closest person right now. He is not an ordinary PA. You see his house, it is so big and luxurious. He has been given a house which has not been given to any minister of Delhi. Everyone in the party is afraid of Bibhav Kumar. He is a very influential person. It is believed in the party that if Bibhav gets angry then you are finished. He has been charged with assault cases earlier as well.
Question: Two of your videos have surfaced, one in which you are walking. AAP says that you are walking comfortably, if you were beaten then how were you walking so comfortably? What would you say about this, can a victim walk like this?
Answer: When I was using abusive language, Bibhav made a video. Why did he not give the entire video to the media? As far as my leaving comfortably is concerned, I have helped so many girls in my 9-year career.
When I met Nirbhaya’s mother, she said that it was good that her daughter was no longer in this world. She did not have to face the humiliation of getting justice in this country. People were questioning Nirbhaya.
Like questions were raised on me that how comfortably I am walking, how comfortably I am sitting. So when someone is beaten up, he is angry, he gets an adrenaline rush. In the heat of the moment, a person runs away, but when you realize that this has happened to you, then you feel pain.
Question: What support have you received from the party?
Answer: I have been associated with these people for 20 years. But now no one is with me. People in the party are being threatened to speak against me. My friends are being called and asked to give me a video of me, a video of me dancing. When I went to America for AAP work, the volunteers with whom I stayed were being called and asked to give me a video. The entire troll army, the entire machinery is after me.
Question: Why is Bibhav being supported so much? Just like AAP is accused of getting foreign funding, does Bibhav have information related to this?
Answer: Bibhav is currently Kejriwal’s closest friend, his confidant. Now which secrets of Kejriwal does he have or not, this is a matter of investigation.
Question: Delhi CM has said that there should be a fair investigation in this case.
Answer: These people held a trial outside the court and declared me guilty. The party is blaming me, so how can they say that there should be a fair investigation. I just made a call and filed a complaint.
After this, I remained silent for a long time because I wanted a fair investigation. Every day some doctored video or fake CCTV footage is shown. Sometimes these people say that I am a BJP agent, my character assassination was done, I am being threatened. So how will there be a fair investigation?
Question: You must also know the secrets of the party, as you say Bibhav knows. So Kejriwal is protecting Bibhav, will he not want to keep you with him?
Answer: I do not know such secrets of the party, because I have never been involved in any such work. This is a matter of investigation. I have never been a part of what scams or irregularities have been done by the party, so I will not be able to say anything about it.
Question: But what do you think is why you were killed? What information do you have, or what is it that caused such an incident to happen to you?
Answer:Â I have told the entire thing to Delhi Police. I have written a complaint about what happened to me. Let Delhi Police investigate this matter as to why this was done to me.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday gave his first statement on the alleged fight between Swati Maliwal and his PA Bibhav Kumar. He told news agency PTI that this incident did not happen in front of me. There are two aspects to the matter. The police should investigate it impartially and justice should be done. Kejriwal further said that the matter is currently in court. Therefore, he does not want to say anything more on this.
