Reactions on Budget

Susheel Kumar, Country Head & Managing Director, Syngenta India

Syngenta India welcomes Union Budget 2026 for its emphasis on AI-led agriculture, particularly through initiatives such as Bharat-VISTAAR, which recognise the role of digital advisory in improving farm-level decision-making, productivity and resilience. The Budget’s focus on self-help–led entrepreneurship and rural enterprise development is a positive step towards creating local capability and employment across the agricultural value chain.

Daanesh H Nikorawala, Director, F Plus Healthcare Technologies Pvt Ltd

The launch of Biopharma Shakti, a strategic initiative aimed at establishing India as a global biopharmaceutical manufacturing and innovation hub is an excellent initiative. The programme is expected to unlock significant opportunities across the pharmaceutical value chain by promoting advanced, high-technology solutions—including next-generation cleanroom pods—and by materially enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities. With a proposed outlay of Rs 10,000 crore over the next five years, Biopharma Shakti is designed to accelerate research, drive capacity expansion, and improve speed-to-market—critical levers for scaling India’s biopharma ecosystem.

Arman Ali, Executive Director, National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled Persons (NCPEDP)

With over 70 million people with disabilities in India, the introduction of the Divyangjan KaushalYojana and Divyangjan Sahara Yojana, backed by a Rs 300 crore allocation in the Union Budget 2026–27, is a timely and much-needed intervention. We express our gratitude to Prime Minister NarendraModi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for prioritizing education, skilling, and assistive technology as pillars of dignity and inclusion. The Government’s focus on scaling ALIMCO, strengthening PM Divyasha Kendras, and investing in AI-led R&D aligns with our sustained efforts to mainstream assistive technology for Divyangjan.
