Bihar Politics: JDU meeting ends in Delhi, suspense remains on Lalan Singh’s future, decision will be taken tomorrow

JDU Meeting: A meeting of officials of Nitish Kumar's party JDU was held in Delhi on Thursday. CM Nitish Kumar himself, Lalan Singh and top leaders of JDU attended this meeting.

JDU Meeting News:The meeting of JDU officials was held in Delhi on Thursday (28 December). After this meeting, Delhi JDU President Shailendra Kumar said that Lalan Singh is the president, was there earlier also and will remain so in future too. He said that there will be a meeting of the National Executive and Council on Friday (29 December).

However, sources are still saying that in the meeting to be held on Friday, Lalan Singh may resign from the post of JDU National President and Nitish Kumar may take charge of this post. Earlier also Nitish Kumar had been the national president of JDU. In such a situation, now everyone’s eyes are fixed on the meeting to be held on Friday.

Before the start of the meeting, an interesting picture came to light that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and National President Lalan Singh reached the party office located at Jantar Mantar together to attend the meeting of national officials.

After the meeting at Nitish Kumar’s residence, both the leaders decided to come together. Its purpose seems to be to give a message of unity in the party. 

Party sources did not rule out the possibility of Singh stepping down from the post of JD(U) president at the party’s national executive and council meeting on Friday. A party leader said that Nitish Kumar can handle this responsibility. However, he said that there has been no confirmation in this regard from both the top leaders of JDU. Earlier, Lalan Singh rejected the news of resigning from his post and said that the Centre’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) On cue, a ‘discussion’ is being created by the media.

Amid speculation that he would resign as party president ahead of the national office-bearers’ meeting, Singh said the meeting was routine and his party was united. “If I have to resign, I will tell you,” Singh said with some sarcasm. Lalan Singh said that this is a regular meeting. “You are trying to spin a story… JD(U) is one and will remain united,” he said. Speaking to reporters in Patna before leaving for Delhi, Kumar talked about the turmoil in his party. Rejecting the speculations, he had said that the two-day conference of JDU in Delhi is a normal and annual event in which there is nothing extraordinary.
