Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) President and Union Minister Pashupati Paras is being overshadowed by his nephew Lok Janshakti Party (R) President Chirag Paswan. Both the parties are in NDA, but why Chirag has become more important in the eyes of BJP, know in this report.

Chirag Paswan remained in NDA even after facing setbacks

Pashupati Paras had broken the Lok Janshakti Party formed by his brother Ram Vilas Paswan to get the post of minister at the Centre. The result was that out of six LJP MPs, five left with Pashupati Paras. Chirag Paswan is the only MP left in his party.

Pashupati Paras got the benefit of being a camp with more MPs and he got a place in the Union Cabinet three years ago. The party also got divided into two parts. Chirag Paswan became the president of the party named LJP (R), while Pashupati Paras became the head of the party named Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party. As soon as he became the minister, Paras became so proud that he stopped paying attention to the organization.

On the other hand, Chirag Paswan kept the flame of politics alive. He kept roaming in Bihar continuously. Kept getting involved in people’s happiness and sorrow. Kept raising voice on the problems of Bihar. Even though he had to criticize CM Nitish Kumar for this, whether he was with NDA or apart from it.

This means that Chirag maintained his concern with the public. Even though Pashupati Paras did a lot, he remained limited to his parliamentary constituency Hajipur.

BJP has seen organizational potential in Chirag

BJP kept assessing Chirag’s organizational ability. He also keenly realized the weakness of Paras. Perhaps this was the reason why BJP gave more importance to Chirag’s party with the only MP and cheated Pashupati Paras, who became a minister with five MPs, during the election time.

On the question of seats, both of them claimed the same number of six seats separately as last time. Chirag was successful in making the BJP leadership understand his pain, troubles and helplessness. Thats why BJP started giving more preference to Chirag than Paras. Now BJP has given five Lok Sabha seats to Chirag Paswan led LJP. He has also been assured of a seat in the Rajya Sabha sources says.

Both claim 6-7 percent votes in Bihar

In the last elections in Bihar, undivided Lok Janshakti Party got seven percent votes. Then LJP had won all the six seats of its share. In Bihar, approximately this percentage of votes are decisive in the Lok Sabha elections.

That means victory and defeat are decided by the same number of votes. BJP knows that Ram Vilas Paswan had created a platform for so many votes. Chirag Paswan is the son of Ram Vilas Paswan. That means he has inherited his father’s natural inheritance.

BJP is also aware of Chirag’s power because due to his influential votes in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, he had defeated Nitish Kumar’s party JDU on two-two and a half dozen seats. That means the base votes of LJP are mostly with Chirag Paswan. Thats the reason, BJP has given more importance to Chirag than his uncle Paras.
